Wimala Amaradeva, wife of the late Maestro Pandith W.D. Amaradeva has passed away at the age of 87.
She was ailing from heart disease and has had a fall this evening and rushed to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL) in Colombo. She was pronounced dead after being admitted to the hospital, her son Ranjana Amaradeva said.
She was born on 5 December 1934 and was a professional folk singer and a dancer. She tied the knot with Pandith Amaradeva in 1963.
